Vladimir Putin has signed a law introducing administrative liability for owners of social networks who fail to fulfill their established obligations or comply with Roskomnadzor's instructions. The law provides for fines of up to 8 million rubles.

Amendments have been made to the Federal Law "On Information, Information Technologies, and Information Protection" that establish specific provisions for the provision of information using recommendation technologies. These amendments will come into effect on October 31, 2023.

Federal Law No. 584-FZ dated 29 December 2022 introduced a number of amendments to the Law on Information and supplemented Article 10.7 “Obligations of the owner of the ad placement service” with new clauses. They come into force on 1 March 2023.
