Citizens will be able to submit and withdraw consent to the processing of biometric personal data through the State Services. In the same way, requests to block, remove and destroy biometrics will be accepted.
Prior to this, in accordance with the Law on Biometrics, Russians could refuse to collect and place their biometric data in the EBS only by submitting an application to the MFC.
“Citizens will be able to submit and withdraw consent to the processing of their biometric personal data in the Unified Biometric System (UBS), as well as access information about such consents in their personal account on the State Services portal. Resolutions on this have been signed. They will make it possible to ensure the right of users to control the processing of their own biometrics, guaranteed by federal law.
The opportunity to get acquainted with all your consents to the processing of biometric data and refusals to collect and place biometrics will appear in your personal account on the State Services on January 1, 2024. We remind you that from 2023, all biometric data must be stored in the EBS.
