The operator of the automated insurance information system is established
“The Bank of Russia has decided to create the National Insurance Information System (“NIIS”), the operator of the automated information system (AIS) for insurance. The AIS will store all information on auto insurance contracts, as well as home insurance against emergencies, the Central Bank said in a statement.
Earlier it was reported that insurance companies will transfer information on compulsory (OSAGO) and voluntary auto insurance (casco, DSAGO), as well as home insurance against emergencies into a single information system.
The Bank of Russia, in turn, will establish uniform requirements for the quality and protection of data transferred to the system, ensure the maintenance of a single standard for the formation of the system, which will allow integrating its functionality with state information resources. This, among other things, is necessary in order to ensure electronic interaction under OSAGO, including the possibility of remote loss settlement, as well as to create new and convenient services for policyholders.
Combining databases on different types of insurance into a single ecosystem will increase the relevance of information and its quality, will provide more complete information about the insured person and object, and will also contribute to the creation of new and convenient services for consumers.
