The "Resistance Map" in St. Petersburg appeared on 8 December after the city authorities restricted the work of institutions before the New Year and on holidays. More than 40 bars, cafes and other establishments were marked on the map. Some food outlets stated that they were not added to the map
Managing partner of the Nadmitov, Ivanov and Partners Law Firm Alexander Nadmitov explained to RBC that adding a bar or restaurant to the corresponding map of its creators cannot be brought to administrative or criminal liability.
“You can try to bring to civil liability, for example, file a claim for compensation for damage caused to business reputation. The damage in this case will be difficult to prove, but you can at least ensure that the institution is removed from this card, ”the lawyer explained.
He also noted that the very presence on the map will not entail direct negative consequences, since there is no responsibility for this. “However, it is possible to increase inspections by government agencies. But, if, as a result of such a check, the bar is fined, this will be associated with violations by the bar, and not with the fact of finding it on the "resistance map," the lawyer added.
