Elena Dmitrieva, a lawyer at the Nadmitov, Ivanov and Partners law firm, gave comments to Pravo.ru on the impact of the coronavirus on the amount of lease payments.
In the context of the spread of coronavirus, many entrepreneurs are suffering losses, in connection with which the Russian government has decided to postpone rent payments for state and municipal property from March for three months for small and medium-sized businesses. “The measure taken by the state is commendable. When the conditions for doing business have changed in a matter of days, support for business by the state, including through the provision of such deferrals, is necessary, ”says Elena Dmitrieva.
Elena Dmitrieva drew attention to how to avoid unnecessary losses that may be obtained as a result of the spread of the new coronavirus infection: "If the lease agreement is currently being concluded, it is possible to provide for a condition that suits both parties to cancel it, change the validity period or reduce the price."
