The FAS filed a case against Megafon under an article suggesting the establishment of monopoly high prices by a company that holds a dominant position in its market. In the case of Megafon, we are talking about collective domination, in which each company is viewed as holding a dominant position separately, explains Elena Zayeva, head of the transport and communications control department of the FAS. Now Megafon, in addition to a fine (0.3-1 million rubles, says Alexander Nadmitov, managing partner of Nadmitov, Ivanov and Partners), is threatened with an order to bring tariffs to an "economically sound state," says Zayeva. FAS does not disclose how much Megafon's tariffs exceed it.
