Nadmitov, Ivanov & Partners provides services for representing clients in the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).

The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) is the body providing administrative services for the resolution of disputes. SCC consists of the Board and the Secretariat.

Number of arbitrators: 1 or 3 arbitrators, unless otherwise provided by agreement of the Parties (Article 16)

Procedure for appointing arbitrators: the appointment of a sole arbitrator is carried out jointly by the Parties within 10 days, and otherwise - by the Board of the Arbitration Institute. The appointment of several arbitrators is carried out by the Parties in equal numbers, the Chairman is appointed by the Board; if the Party does not appoint arbitrators, the appointment is made by the Board (Art. 17).

Time for consideration of the case: 6 months with the possibility of extension (Article 43). The average actual period for considering a case is from 6 to 12 months.

Registration fee: 3000 euros (Art. 1 of Annex IV to the SCC Regulation)

Administration fee: from 3,000 to 70,000 euros (depending on the amount in dispute)

SCC advantages: one of the most popular dispute resolution sites; most of the disputes are international in nature; experienced arbiters; is often chosen by the Russian Parties (according to the nationality of the Parties in SCC, Russia takes the 2nd place after Sweden); a high degree of gender diversity among arbitrators; the most common areas of dispute are service contracts, supplies, mergers and shareholder agreements

SCC Features: Arbitration is deemed to have commenced on the day the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce receives the request for arbitration (Article 8)

The Arbitral Tribunal has the right to resolve the dispute on fairness (ex aequo et bono) or as an amiable compositeur (art. 27)
