As part of the 7th package of sanctions (Council Regulation (EU) 2022/1269) adopted on July 21, the EU clarified the transactions necessary to ensure access to justice.
Regulation 2022/1269 exempts from sanctions transactions that are necessary to secure access to judicial, administrative or arbitration proceedings in an EU Member State, or to recognize or enforce a judicial or arbitral award rendered in a Member State, if such transactions are in line with the objectives of Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 and Regulation (EU) No 269/2014.
