Mikhail Mishustin signed the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1378 dated 25 August 2023, according to which an updated state forest registry will start operating in Russia from 1 January 2025.
The forest registry will function on the GosTech platform, operated by Rosleskhoz, and with its help state bodies will promptly receive information on the state and use of forests.
The forest registry will include forest maps, information about forestries, information about timber, transactions with it and its processed products, data on timber storage points, wood processing facilities and other information.
The Government believes that thanks to the forest registry state authorities will be able to obtain reliable information about the state of forests and effectively plan measures for their protection, defense, reproduction and breeding of forests.
It should be noted that from 1 September 2023 the forest registry will be launched in pilot mode in three regions: Moscow, Arkhangelsk and Ulyanovsk. By the end of 2023, the launch is planned in 60 more subjects, and from 1 January 2025 - in the whole of Russia.
